If you check out Redhat's web site you will find an errata page for the Picasso Release which should explain the performance problems you are experiencing. Apparently the X binaries in the distribution have been statically linked. This means that these binaries do not use the shared libaries when running and so gobble memory like it's going out of style. The solution is to download the new X binaries package from Redhat and use rpm to upgrade. It's about 6M. There are also some other upgrade packages you may want to get as well. Hope this helps. Cheers Robert
