I installed Redhat 3.0.3 a week ago... and managed to get swedish
characters in bash great (fi-latin1.map)! Now i've been trying to get
thoose nice characters in Xfree and got some help from a text on the
subject for slackware. My problem is that almost all my special
characters wont work in Xfree (/@$| etc) Now since i've only been
running linux for a week i really don't know how to start fixing
this...

I've tried to use XKeyCaps >.Xmodmap and selected the keyboard that
looks like the one i have.
PC 102 key keyboard #1 (Linux/XFree86 Swedish/Finnish layout) keyboard
and it shows the correct keys at once ... great! but after writing to
the file .Xmodmap (selecting ALL keys not just changes) the first
lines in the file produced says this is an input file for xmodmap and
so on and below it lines up all changes... and it's about 5 changes
that changes something with F8 - F18 and stuff not anything with my
special characters... but all keys are saved... so obiously after a
"xmodmap .Xmodmap" it just changes the keys it stated it would
change....

I think this has something to do with scancodes that my keyboard sends
that doesn't match the ones in my generated .Xmodmap so how do I fix
this scancode stuff?

Eh oh well any help appresiated...
