I have 200 Meg and a 270 Meg Syquest drive (C: and D: in DOS terminology). I've copied the filesystems which live on the C: drive onto the Syquest. Also, I can boot-up on a floppy and mount the Syquest as the root filesystem. The question is, how can I put a MBR on the Syquest drive without having to swap the drives around. If I boot-up on floppy and mount the Syquest drive, LILO thinks the Syquest drive is /dev/hda (rather than /dev/hdb) and writes the MBR to the 200 Meg drive (huh?). Maybe I'm not using LILO correctly. The configuration file looks OK. Has anyone out there had any experience with this situation? The reason I want to do this is because I install the Syquest cartridges in machines that only have a Syquest drive and no other hard disk. Thanks in advance, Ken. -- $ Ken Lee Email: kenl@ausonics.mpx.com.au $ Voice: +61 2 9428-6428 Fax: +61 2 9427-3990 $ Organisation: Ausonics International Pty Ltd $ 16 Mars Road Lane Cove NSW 2066 AUSTRALIA
