Netscrape 3b5 bombs out on my machine, too.  I can't tie it to colour
depth (I run it at 16 bpp all the time) nor to the javascript though.
I don't get "bus error" messages either -- the browser just disappears.
My impression is, it bombs out when you try something "big", like
using Netfind or a downloading a big java applet after the browser's
been on for some time.  Sounds like a memory leak...
