Under Windows '95, I have the standard Microsoft mouse driver installed, so the switch must be set to "Microsoft" mode. However, under Linux I want three buttons, so it's set up for "MouseSystems" mode. The problem you're describing happens to me when the switch for the mouse is set to two-button "Microsoft" mode under Linux. (i.e. the mouse sends Microsoft style signals, but the driver is expecting "MouseSystems" signals). My guess? Set your XWindows up for Microsoft mode and everything should be OK. dave.
