In article <4qlpug$c30@tribune.concentric.net>: |I got it running okay too, and I've never used Linux before. |But one problem I did have is that the screen was messed up |when I tried to run it under "screen". Someone convinced me |that Kermit (ckermit?) was a much better terminal program, so |I'm going to be giving that a go...I just wonder, if that's |the case why wasn't it in the redhat distribution |package.....okay, I think I know why, I remember reading some |readme file in one of redhat ftp sites that a kermit rpm could |not be distributed in mass but only downloaded for private |use - something about it only being able to be distributed in |it's original form. Anyway, that may have something to do |with it. I haven't done it yet, but I plan to |download the kermit rpm and install it instead of minicom, |which seems okay, but I heard kermit is MUCH more powerful. | |-Tony Yes, there was a row a while back when the Kermit developers decided they didn't want their work on CDROMs because they felt they losing out on support funds and recognition that way. So you have to fetch it from a ftp site.
