My BIOS is dated 1992. I had the same problem when I bought my 1.08G NEC. The limitation is indeed a limitation of the BIOS (the controller limits the # of devices you can address) The newer BIOSes are generally equipped with LBA (Logical Block Addressing) capability, which effectively remaps your drive in a way that makes the entire disk accessible. Prior to LBA-capable BIOSes, we had to use software that would load from the disk's MBR at boot-time, and perform the same function. An example of such software is Disk Manager, manufactured by Ontrack Computer Systems, which fortunately for me, came with my drive. You'll likely need such software before proceeding. Contact your vendor, they should have such software onhand! Good luck! Dave
