To all those that replied,

I have fixed the problem.
I had to many entries in the printcap file. Once I deleted the
unnecssary lines all was well. In summary the following was all that
was needed.

post|postscript:\
	:sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp:\
	:mx#0:\
	:lp=/dev/null:\
	:rm=gumleaf:\
	:rp=postscript:\
	:sh:
