My apologies if this is an old question, but it has been about 18 months since I last upgraded my linux system. I am getting a new computer on saturday with a 2.1G EIDE Hard disk. Now I remember back when I first started getting into linux that big disks (>540MB or >1GB) were a hassle to use with linux. I was wondering if this is still a problem? Can I install linux on any partition on the disk. Another thing I remember was that the boot partition had to be below 1024 cylinders or something; is this till the case? I was also wondering, is there still problems getting Diamond Stealth cards working with XFree86? And one last question: does anyone know of any places in Melbourne, except for Laserbaud, who sell Linux CD's? On a different note, does anyone want to fill me in on what has been happening with Linux since around December '94 which was the last time I paid any real attention to happenings. I gather that Version 2.0 of the kernel is due out any day now. Apparently there is SMP support now? -- Tommy Haywood;
