Hi I was going to email you, but then I noticed that your hostname and domain are incorrectly set. You may want to chase this up! : I heard RedHat was better, so I installed it. Install : went smoothley, only took three or four tries... and then I come to XWindows (I : think, because I can only see 1/25 of the desktop. I'm talking about mouse : cursors the size of quarters here! Hahaha. All I can see of my first desktop is : a :clear" and a "done" button. The rest of the dialogue box is three miles : above my screen. Which Xserver did you install? You should have installed the 'generic SVGA' server (XFree86-SVGA-3.1.2-4.i386.rpm). I think you may have installed the generic VGA one by mistake. Try installing the SVGA server and then rerun Xconfigurator. Depending on your car/monitor, you can enable more than one video mode and switch between them using CTL-ALT-BACKSPACE Have fun, Robert Hart hartr@hedland.edu.au Voice: +61 (0)91 72 0429 Fax: +61 (0)91 72 3560 Hedland College, PMB 1, South Hedland WA 6722 Australia
