Greets to you all, and THANK GOD for this newsgroup! :) I bought the Special Edition Using Linux 2nd edition, and it came with Slackware and RedHat. The authors wrote the book for Slackware and just "threw in" RedHat as a bonus. I heard RedHat was better, so I installed it. Install went smoothley, only took three or four tries... and then I come to XWindows (I think, because I can only see 1/25 of the desktop. I'm talking about mouse cursors the size of quarters here! Hahaha. All I can see of my first desktop is a :clear" and a "done" button. The rest of the dialogue box is three miles above my screen. I see that Slackware comes with a trident video driver, but in RedHat I have to pick "Generic" video card. Could this be the prob? Should I just ditch RedHat and go with Slackware just to see the screen in "normal" view? I'd buy you lunch, but you'd have to come here. I get motion sickness... Hahahaha! Later! :)
