Hi, Well I gave it a go and compiled a kernal on the weekend so I could use my soundcard. Everything worked perfectly thanks to the HOWTO. There is only one small problem. When Linux boots up the souncard volume is set to maximum. I've read the faq's and howto's but I haven't been able to discover how to set a default volume on boot up. Can anyone help? Kev. P.S. I'm using a Soundblaster 16 clone (Magic S32). ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kevin Grant K.Grant@its.gu.edu.au Griffith University Australia ------------------------------------------------------------------------
