:  Ram is cheap, so grab some more :)

Funny, I have never had a problem with netscape under Linux
(apart from my on-going bloody war with the video card). I
am running it on an old Pentium 60 with 8 Mb. I have noticed
under windows it gets progessively slower until you have to
re-boot the machine to make it behave.
