Any copy of Debian 1.0 you find will likely be completely broken.  It was
distributed on CD by mistake well before any official release, and that
version number is being skipped.

The current official version of Debian is still 0.93R6 (a.out), but the ELF
1.1 I believe is getting close to beta release - you can grab it now, but
you probably don't want to unless you know what you're doing and don't mind
if you run into problems.  Anyway, you can find out more on Debian's web
pages:  http://www.debian.org/

If you want ELF support right away, try Red Hat.  I haven't used it myself,
but by all accounts it's very good, and has most of the advantages Debian
has (or will have when 1.1 is finally released).

As for where to get it, I'm afraid I'll have to leave that to somebody else
since I'm not up-to-date on those kinds of things.
