What I didn't say in my reply was that I now have shifted the CD-Rom to 
the secondary slave since I now have another disk on the secondary 
master.  Linux still works ok (ain't computers annoying :-) ).  One thing 
to look at is if the hard disk on the secondary master is Enhanced IDE 
compatible (ie does it have a master/slave switch)?  I have found on a 
friend's computer that this may stop it from working.
