I have a Linux system at home, which I'd like to connect to an OS/2 system at
work over a dial-up link.
I'll be using the OS/2 PC mainly for engineering use (PCB drafting, electronics
design, some software development). Much of the engineering software will be
DOS- and Win3.1-based. But I'd also like to take advantage of the applications
I have running under Linux.
Ideally, I'd like to be able to do the following:
- dial up my home system from the OS/2 machine, and use the graphical
(X windows) and non-graphical applications on my Linux machine;
- dial up the OS/2 system from home, and use the graphical and
non-graphical applications on the OS/2 system.
On my Linux machine I have X, ppp, cslip, and BIND working. I know next
to nothing about OS/2.
How close can I get to the ideal capabilities above? I'd prefer to use
copylefted or low-cost software to do it. All comments appreciated.
Thanks,
Carl.
