Hi all....... Something I have noticed recently on my system is that when there are two accounts with a similar name, when you change the password on one of them, the other one's password (and UID) gets changed too...... For example, I have two accounts, one "bradmck" and the other "brad", when I created "brad", all was OK - for a while, until bradmck wanted to know why he could not log in anymore..... Does anyone know anything about the problem ?????????? Also, my inetd dies every week or so, is there any reason people may know for this to happen, and is there a better way to check & restart than a script & cron job???? H/W : DX2-66 20Mb RAM... Kernel : 1.2.13 Installed off Slackware Sept CD's. Thanks Brent
