I am trying to install Linux on 386 DX 40 with a CDROM Installed OK but on reboot was not able to find the CDROM. So from WWW resources found I needed to compile a custom kernel. I used the install disk and at LILO prompt mounted /dev/hda2 which is the partition I am using. Came up OK (with some errors) and can read from the CDROM but when in directory /usr/src after setting the required linkages between files "make config" comes back with error " make: *** No rule to make target 'config'. a search for "makefile" comes up with nothing. pretty annoying to get sooo close. The linux version is from book "LInux unleashed" 1.1.18 Peter Hansen phansen@gil.com.au Peter, Toni, Mark, Ben & Emma. East Ipswich Qld phansen@gil.ipswichcity.qld.gov.au
