WANTED : Advice on running DOOM on slackware release 3 (disk series A+Y)

I've installed the a and y series, and tried to run doom, im told the
following files are missing.

libc.so.4
libvga.so.1

Could this be a fault with the package, or is my setup ?
I notice there is a file libc.so.5.
I'm also told im missing libgdbm.so.2 on bootup.

Any help would be appreciated.
