Subject says it all, really. I purchased Linux Unleashed, and am in the process of attempting to install it from the CD-ROM. The version of Linux on the CD-ROM in the book is v.2.2.0 I am attempting to install the version onto my home computer. I have a SoundBlaster Multimedia 16-bit card. I have successfully? managed to set up my partitions and swap space. My problem is that when in the installation process, I attempt to install software packages from the CDROM. The "setup" program does not recognise my CDROM. I've attempted to create a symbolic link, and then mount it. The symbolic link appears to work well, but an error message comes back from the mount, saying that the CDROM cannot be unmounted. I've looked in the CDROM, Hardware and Kernel howto's, and am quite stuck with What my next step should be (burning the computer is not appreciated). -- dga s933410@yallara.cs.rmit.edu.au http://yallara.cs.rmit.edu.au/~s933410/ "Snow was general all over Ireland, ... falling in the murky waters of the Shannon, falling too, on the grave where Michael Furey lay buried..." - James Joyce, 'Dubliners'
