Installed Linux from Slackware CD 2.3 and everything is rather normal, considering the learning curve of someone used to DOS. I want to change the background and foreground colors of opening screens the text ones, not X. Could not find this simple information in book which is for intermediate users and evidently considers such matters too basic. Something on the level of escape sequences in DOS. Thanks in advance. Stanislaw.
