Hi,
I have an XT system connected to my linux box via the serial com port
so that I can log in if my (linux) monitor fails (it has an ill
brightness pot). I am running agetty from the inittab boot-up file and
the XT terminal is working fine, with one minor exception. Sometimes
the attribute of the current character becomes "inverse" (for example
when in vi the status line is shown in inverse mode and when you do
an "i" to insert, the inverse status stays on in the file that you
are editing - this does no harm but is mildly annoying).
I would like to know what emulation agetty uses so that I can send a
command to agetty (when appropriate) to restore the normal character
attribute for the characters about to be typed in. (Perhaps also
assign this command to a Function key on the keyboard.)
So does anyone know what emulation agetty is using on the serial
port (and, if possible, where some documentation on it is).
All help appreciated.
