I'm finding the CERN httpd 3.0 under Linux is eventually hanging (ie. the parent httpd is still there, but it doesn't answer requests) after a day's or so pounding. A kill -HUP seems to fix it. When this occurs, there are a number of zombie httpds present. Short of putting kill -HUP in cron :), is this a known problem with a fix? Setup is Red Hat 2.0 (ELF), Linux 1.2.13, Pentium-100, 32MB RAM, Debian version of CERN httpd. regards, luke. lukeh@schnet.edu.au
