I have just installed Slakware 2.3 on a DX4/100 with a generic NE2000 network card. I can't seem to find the ethx devices or the lo device in the /dev directory. Networking is configured and I have recompiled the kernel for NE2000 support. The kernal detects the network card on boot but no device! Anyone have any clues? Thanks, -=Dave.
