I just saw this when I want to post the NCR SCSI performance questions. The memory to memory copy on Pentinum-100 (intel motherboard) is 24 MBps. The memory to register or reverse is 40 MB (32 bits) or 80 MB (64 bits). The cache to register transfer rate is 110 MB (132 MBps Max. in the spec.). There is no way to get 100 MBps file Tx rate over SCSI controller. Impossible! The disks we used are Seagate Baracuda ST12550N (SCSI-2, 10 MB) They are can get 8.2 MBps reading rate under Sparc stations, SGI and DEC/Alpha by accessing two disks simutaniously; 1 disk can only read 5.2 MBps. However, under Pentinum-100 with NCR53c810 SCSI host adapter, we can get only 3.2 MBps under either single disk or double disks accessing. (same disks) So, this mean the SCSI controller is the bottleneck. What I need is the existing or known SCSI controllers that are really SCSI-2. That is, that any SCSI controller for PC can go over 6 MBps is great. Please send me email about the brands, with their performance and price.
