What Mainboard are you using ? I have an ASUS P5MP3 Rev. 3.1

Same here ...

I sent the following to Drew Eckhardt but didn't get a response.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm having problems with my SCSI-Controller and nobody in our German
newsgroups can seem to help, in fact a lot of people here with the exact
same configuration are having the same problems.

I have an ASUS PCI/I P5MP3 (Rev. 3.1) Mainboard with the optional
NCR 53c810 based ASUS PCI-SC200 SCSI Controller.
The board has Mercury Revision 3.

When I boot Linux 1.1.64 (earlier versions don't work either...)
it prints the following:

bios32_init : BIOS32 Service Directory Structure at 0xfb0a0
bios32_init : BIOS32 Service Directory entry at 0xfb320
pcibios_init : PCI BIOS revision 2.00 entry at 0xfb350
..
...
...
scsi1: at PCI BUS 0, device 6, function 0
scsi1: NCR53c810 at memory 0xfc000000, io 0xd000, irq 15

and then it just hangs ....

My BIOS is an AWARD v4.50G #401A0-0401 and my NCR BIOS is V3.0 PCI Rev 2.0
3.04.00
(I flash-upgraded from 0303 but to no avail ...)

I configured the card for INTA since all other settings print an error
but continue booting ! That should be OK since my BIOS tells me to let
all cards use INTA, since it will remap the IRQ's by itself ...

IRQ 15 is right, io I don't know but mem seems strange .... :

Does the board live at fc00:0 or at e800:0 ?????
The kernel override ignored my settings .....

I also have an Adaptec 1542CF which works perfectly under Linux.
The combination Adaptec+NCR works great under MS-DOS but Linux doesn't like
my NCR, with or without the Adaptec installed.

Of course I could go on working like this but I'm such a performance addict
.... :-))))

Adaptec: 1.4MB/s
NCR: 3.4 MB/s

The choice is obvious ..... :-))))

I tried various IRQ settings, fiddled with the Cache/PCI Burst/Waitstates
/Rom Shadow settings ...... nothing .....

Greetings,
Markus
