Hi all, I have a non intelligent digiboard PC/8 with 8 16550 UARTS. The problem is this - Only 4 serial ttys work at 9600 baud - It can be any of the 8 ports (100,108,110,..,138), but only 4. And those four are always on ttyS0->ttyS3, cua0->cua3. I've read the Serial Howto until my eyes bled. I've make triply sure that the devices in /dev (cua4->7) (ttyS4->7) exist. Just to be sure, I've used MAKEDEV ttyS4 (5,6,7) to do it again. However, no matter what I do the only ports that work will be the ones I've told setserial to be cua0->3. cua4->7/ttyS4->7 do work, but take 10 minutes to print a login prompt. Linux Box is a 486/33, running stock kernal 1.1.59 from Slackware 2.1, getty_ps. Any hints at all will be appreciated. I've blown 4 days at it! -- Andrew Disseldorp (andrewd@sunrise.sli.unimelb.edu.au)
