You should get the xconfig.tgz from slackware/x6
ftp tsx-11.mit.edu ...../slackware/slakware/x6/xconfig.tgz
There are 24 sample Xconfig file in there.
You should place the EDITED (for your card, resolution, clocks etc.)
file in /usr/X386/lib/X11
thats all.
Another thing you can give a try is a X11 configuring tool (I havn't
tried it, so don't flame me if you get in trouble):
