I do not have any of the TCP/IP stuff installed on my Linux box, however
I do have jserver running. If you don't know kanji too well, you may
be running into the same stubmling block I hit (head on *grin*).

The two main "tweeks" I needed to perform after installing the JE version
of Wnn4.09 related to jserver is:

1) change the line
	setdic pubdic/tankan.dic /usr/@USR/tankan.h	1 1 1 - - 0
   in the file,
	/usr/lib/wnn/ja_JP/wnnenvrc*
   to
	setdic pubdic/tankan.dic /usr/@USR/tankan.h	1 1 0 - - 0

2) create a directory called ~/usr/@USR/ for each account which will
be using wnn. (where ~ is the home dir of the account, and @USR
is the name of the account) for example I have a dir called

    /home/ortman/usr/ortman

please remember that these are just "kludges" as far as I am concerned
I fiddled with stuff till it worked, so I am not sure if this is
the correct way to install (esp point #1 above)

if ya need any more help let me know.

PS I found that I didn't need jserver at all since I don't translate anything
to Kanji in the first place *smile* I stick with the Kana for now!

take care,
Kev
