  you must exec "login" from the lowest level "sh"



I'd like to know why this is being printed!  Surely when getty does an
"exec" to "login" it is at the lowest level shell!

Also, there seems to be incorrect information being put in utmp and wtmp.



By the overwhelming response I've had to my request for help, I gather
there are no experts out there who might give me at least one hint.

Yes, I'm getting exasperated!

PLEASE help me on this.
