Running Mandriva, KDE, KPPP, dialup connection. Getting timed out when downloading email with photo attachments. Have checked every possible setting in Thunderbird and KPPP to disable any limiters. Final solution is to remove and reinstall either my profile in .Thunderbird or whole program. Before I do this, I want to save my address book file. Could someone please advise me what the file extension letters are, and what folder they are in?. Appreciated :-) p.s. this problem has only occurred since downloading updated Thunderbird. BrianM

It doesn't seem very likely that it's thunderbird causing it (although it could be). I've been using thunderbird for quite some time now and received lots of emails with sometimes quite large photo attachments and i've never had that problem. > Final solution is to remove and reinstall either my profile in > .Thunderbird or whole program. That's a windows-style approach and it's probably not going to fix it. > Before I do this, I want to save my address book file. But if you open the address book and click on the 'Tools' menu item and then 'Export', you can save your address book in your home directory and then import it after you've reinstalled. > p.s. this problem has only occurred since downloading updated Thunderbird. Perhaps you should try reverting to the previous version. -- http://NovemberEchoRomeoDelta.com
