How do I reboot the machine automatically?

A program I am writing has the requirement that on the receipt of 
a master reset message, it reboots the machine.  There is a DosShutdown
command, but from the description given in the references, this waits
for the user to restart the machine with CNTL,ALT,DEL, which sort of
defeats the purpose of having a remote reboot message in our protocol.
