I am having similar problems -- tried to startup DOOM from a program
template, but now all I get is the 'Unable to startup session' window that
suggests out of memory or program not on path.  But I have 8 megs, and nothing
else running!  Also, the DOS and Windowed DOS command prompts produce the same
message -- even after cold boot!
