I have a scenario that is probably similar to 90% of the rest of the world, however I cannot find a solution. I have 2 routers connecting to the "world". Each router has quite a large routing table. They are using BGP/IGRP. We have been using DEFAULT ROUTES in our SUN's and PCs, however, as you can quess, when one router/link fails, half my population is dead in the water. It appears that my ONLY option is RIP, as it is supported with ROUTED on the desktop. However, running RIP on my router causes quite a bit of processing and delay due to the large tables (or so I am assuming). I have heard about GATED, which is on our AIX systems, it can listen for OSPF/RIP/IGP (or so I am told). What options are possible on the SUN? How is the industry handling this situation? Thanks
