My apologies for repeating (in part) a question I asked a little while back, but I am still not clear about what I should be doing. I have just installed MikTex. Everything works fine. I have the c:\texmf tree and also the c:\localtexmf tree. The latter includes a miktex subdirectory. I now wish to add some things but do not know where they should go or what the sensible way of organising things is ... a failing on my part for not having elaborated my original question sufficiently (1) I wish to install the Mathtimes fonts. The font metrics were installed with the base MikTex installation, but the actual PK files do not exist. So (a) from where do I obtain them and (b) in what part of the tree do I install them. (2) The Journal of the Royal Statistical Society provides its own documentclass file (statsoc.cls). I thought it would a style file they used, but it is not. Where in the tree should that go. (3) For bibtex, I wish to install the Chicago ; I notice that there seems to be chicago.bst chicago.sty and chicago.tex. Where would these go? Should they all be in the one directory, or they get split up? (4) J. R. Stat Soc use natbib.sty with the Chicago style. Where should the natbib.sty file go? I would be *very* grateful if someone might be able to spell this out in detail. If you tell me "In the local tree", I am not really going to get the hang of the organisation, so I'd much rather get some unnecessary information and be treated as the novice I am, than get too little!! I realise that with the database reconstruction, the files are probably going to be found no matter where I put them, but that, of course is not the point.
