How can I perform a structured reference using BibTeX?

I want to split my sources (books, proceedings, articles, etc.) in
seperate files. When it comes to the reference section I'd like to have
it in subsections.

So it shall look like this:

Reference

Topic 1

[1] ...
[2] ...

Topic 2

Topic 2.1

[3] ...
[4] ...

While we have usally problems with our news server, please send me a
copy via e-mail.

Thanks in advance.

Regards, Thoralf.
