It seems that "there are only two episodes until death of the Doctor"; so, will the longest running SF series on TV finally come to an end? Or, will it be, as Mark Twain said, "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated." Of course, the good Doctor has died many times before, but has reincarnated every time - since 1963. This time it looks final, as even a Time Lord is mortal, and runs out of options. Perhaps the time-travel concept has exhausted its possibilities, or maybe BBC can no longer afford the production unit. But why should we bewail the death of someone who never existed in the first place? Maybe, as with Sherlock Holmes, public demand will insist on a Return? Or, there may be a sigh of relief that the Doc has gone at last. The Doctor is an Alien, if in human form, so maybe death will reveal his true appearance?

# Well, it seems the Doctor has survived this "final" episode, by a bit of
trickery (borrowed from movie "Meet Dave"?), and this BBC money-spinner will
go on for yet another season.
Indeed, not even reincarnation was involved, so we assume Matt Smith
retains the role.
However, it is possible that Doctor Who's options are narrowing, as the
Daleks have been killed off, along with all other Time Lords (except a
couple of baddies). Gallifrey is defunct.
And after this episode, the Doc may have to keep a low profile - as he
is supposed to be dead.
But the Doctor has been in tighter corners than this, and who expects
too much logic and consistency in any time travel fiction? The basic
concept involves umpteen contradictions.
(Try "The Terminator" series, if you have any doubts.)
