Why the h*ll didn't he do something similar for the >footers???? I do not consider them that nice. What have annoyed me not once is the presence of page numbers at the left- or right-hand sides of headers. One situation when this have been annoying was when I wanted to have headers without any page numbers at all, the other one was when I wanted to have headers like "page <current> of <total>". Or can I do this with Leslies's \markright and \markleft macros? BTW these macros replace original TeX headers, the latter can be very complex eg. multiline, the former can not. Why TeX headers are not available in LaTeX? -- Andrzej M. Borzyszkowski Dept. Comp. Sci., Technical U. of Denmark, DK-2800 Lyngby e-mail: amb@id.dth.dk, fax: ++45 42 884530 (until 6 March 1992).
