LaTeX and spacing...

I am writing a tutorial sheet using LaTeX, and I am using the
"enumerate" environment. I want to know how to squeeze space in between
formulas. For example, to quote from the tutorial sheet :

	Newton's Law of Viscosity :	t = -u dv
					       dz

	Fourier's Law of Conduction : q = -k dT
					       dz

Now, addressing the above examples, the "dT" in Fourier's Law almost runs
into the "dz" from Newton's Law. How can I put in space here? I have
tried \addvspace, \par, \vspace and \vskip. None of these work.
