I have bought a new system and wanted to network (file share only) with my old PC. I bought a NETGEAR home network system and cannot get it and get RoadRunner working properly at the same time (seems to be one or the other). Computer #2 (old one) shows both computers under Network Neighborhood but the new PC (PC1) only shows itself. PC 2 has one NIC card and computer #2 has two, one linked to the hub the other to RoadRunner. If you KNOW how to straighten this out and get it working I would like an hour +/- of your time and will pay you. Please email me and tell me how much you want and when you are available, the sooner the better! Thanks, BT

Usually, there is a problem with the configuration of the PC that is not showing. Start off by swapping out the two network cards, and cables just to prove that both work. Then remove all aspects of your network definition, and allow windows to find everything again.--Goto: Start:Control Panel:Network This is just a start point. From there, double check all aspects of your network config. Are you using 98 or 2000? Tracey

Or when you moved them, did the other computer not show up? Sometimes, cables are not made properly, so you have to swap them out and the same with cards. This is the easiest thing to do. Now, try this if you haven't already. Verify that the settings on both machines under the Network icon are exactly the same on both machines, and what I mean is to click on each of the definitions and check all the little parameter settings for the cards, etc. Both computers should be exactly set the same way. Next, whatever you do, don't use internet sharing at this point. Let me know. Tracey

Network Neighborhood is a spotty feature at best.... can you access PC2 from PC1 by using Start/Run and typing \\<PC2ComputerName>\<Sharename>? "Brooks N.
