Good day. Time for some new notebooks. Engineers are getting Mobile Pentium II based units. For me, I am mostly in e-mail, on the 'net, financial apps, PowerPoint, and so forth. We do use a very high-end CRM (Customer Resource Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems in house. (These are very high-end databases, if you will.) I understand that original Celerons weren't so hot for large database use. I am wondering what the opinion might be of the new Mobile Celeron 400. The portable unit that I like best comes with a DVD, floppy, and modem built in. It has 128k RAM and a 6.5GB HD. The OS is '98, and I'll go to Windows 2000 live on the system once it is in production. The Mobile Pentium II 400 that the engineers are getting have built in modems but don't have DVD (not that NT supports DVD now anyway). Oh! And a pointing stick. We like pointing sticks. So the unit is what is pointing me towards the Mobile Celeron 400, though I can't be disappointed with the performance because of the system features. Thanks in advance for the help.
