video card help needed

i am currently costructing a 486 sx it has a built in video card, but when i try to use it, nothing appears on the monitor. i also bought a seperate video card, but i need to disable the original built in one. How do i do this, can any one help me, please.

No idea. I used to have a packard Bell 386sx with a lot of stuff on board. Supposedly if you inserted a card in the slot the MB was supposed to automatically disable the onboard and use the newly inserted one. Didn't work for an IDE controller though. Good Luck. Mike
