I spent lots of money on the arts this year.  For example, I have
purchased hundreds of dollars worth of tickets to concerts of musicians
whom I prefer, and have purchased a variety of other artistic and
creative material by paying for cable TV service, Internet service, as
well as records, magazines, and books of my own choosing.  

36 cents per person spent on The Arts?  What bullshit.  More money was
spent per capita just to view the movie "Titanic" (winner of 8 Academy
Awards).   The 36 cents figure is derived by dividing the California
Arts Council budget by the population of the state, based on the
incredibly arrogant and elitist assumption that anything not funded by
the California Arts Council is not Art.  

I just don't like the stuff that's funded by the California Arts
Council, or the NEA for that matter.  Given a choice, I wouldn't freely
pay a plug nickel for it.  That's why no-talent wannabes like yourself
are demanding that I be taxed to pay for it.
