Thanks to everyone who responded to my survey posted last Friday, April 4
and Tuesday April 8. I've received 30 responses so far. All were
informative and largely supportive. Special thanks to those who included
notes of encouragement with their responses.
I am still looking for input about the Website I'm building. It will list
bike tours from around the world. Do cyclists use the Web to research bike
tours? Would they be comfortable booking a tour through the Web? I could
go in any number of directions depending on the feedback I get.
I'd like to gather at least 50 responses --more would be better... I
thought I'd get hundreds based on the message volumes out there... come on
you lurkers, here's your chance :-)
This will be the last time I post my survey.
Please respond by e-mail by April 14th, and thanks again!

ORIGINAL SURVEY:
Im looking for help with some research Im doing. Im checking out the
viability of a Web publication that will list bicycle tour companies and
their tours.
This service will be comprehensive: there will be no charge for tour
companies to participate--this free advertising should attract both large
international companies and smaller local operators. It will be
responsive: the site will be driven by a database that will be constantly
updated by myself and directly by tour companies. It will be fun: sections
of the site will be interactive--they will support libraries of anecdotes
and touring tips submitted by readers. And of course it will be FREE for
all to browse on the Web. The enterprise will cover its costs through
sponsorship and some cycling-related advertising.
I wish to know if this service would be of use to cyclists on the internet.
Please take a few minutes to answer some or all of the following 7
questions. Thanks.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Ive set up the questions so you can simply quote them back to me and
delete the responses that are not appropriate. Feel free to leave more
than one response per question in place if it applies.

on a regular basis
not at all
Please reply by e-mail to avoid burdening this newsgroup. I have taken the
liberty of cross-posting this message to a number of other cycling-related
groups (although not as many as I originally posted to). My apologies for
the clutter if you subscribe to more than one ofthese, but what better way
to contact cyclists on the 'net than throughthe 'net!
Thanks for taking the time to check out this posting.

P.S. Your responses will be treated as confidential; I will promptly
delete them from my hard drive after they have been counted.
