I have a Research Computing BC Order Form in front of me which quotes the
following rates:

1. Developer Package for DECmpp 12000
   - forty hours processing time
   - ten megabytes permanent disk storage
   - two hours technical consulting at BC Systems
   - user id valid for six months
   - $1,500 (plus GST) per package

2. Resource Billing (12000):
   - processing time on DECmpp 12000 at $100 per hour

3. Resource Billing (9000):
   - VAX 9420 Vector Processor at $120 per CPU hour

4. Disk Storage:
   - $0.10 per megabyte per day

NOTE: With the exception of Disk Storage, the following discounts apply:
       - 66 2/3 % for services provided on or before December 31, 1992
       - 33 1/3 % for services provided between January 1, 1993 and June 30, 1993

From the presentation that I attended at the beginning of this month, I got the
impression that anyone could purchase time on the system. If I remember
correctly, there are several (4?) groups from UVic using the DECmpp 12000, one
group from UBC, and many other groups that I can't remember for a total of
sixteen customers. I do remember there is one group that is a commercial shop.

Access to the DECmpp 12000 is available via DNET, BCnet, and Internet to the
DECstation 500 front end with the following development tools available
(as listed on an information sheet):

  - MPL parallel extension of C
  - MPF parallel FORTRAN based on FORTRAN 90
  - MPPE debugger for MPL and MPF
  - Ultrix operating system
  - Motif graphical user interface
  - image, math, and graphics libraries

Hope this helps.
