Yesterday I came across a new wrinkle to the opting out story. I visited
my medical clinic in Nanaimo where several doctors hang their shingle.
On the door at the entrance, a sign was posted to let their patients know
that although none of the doctors there have "opted out", they were
at least sympathetic to the cause and therefore would NOT treat any
patients who were transferring from doctors who have opted out. Therefore,
those who wish to not have to pay directly, are now being forced to
communities outside of Nanaimo in order to be treated under MSP. It's a
pity for those who can afford it least!
My 2 cents worth,
Bruce....
