For more than 20 years BC lightkeepers have been providing aviation weather information to enhance the safety of aircraft operating along BC's sparsely populated coastline. On December 14, 2001 Nav Canada terminated all aviation weather reporting from BC lighthouses and the Coast Guard has specified that Lightkeepers will no longer be allowed to provide aviation weather information to anyone.
