I was just chatting with best tech support on another matter, and connection problems came up. In essence, they don't trust PacBell. From another BBS I am on, it took them weeks of complaints to get someone from PacBell to show up and find the fault causing their connectivity problems. Otoh, PacBell will tell you its all your modem's fault. Actually, I did fiddle and tweek with my modem. Then I got a new one. I'm much happier now :) If I have a problem that persists for only a day, or a few hours (which happens fairly reglarly) I assume Best is spazzing. If it goes on for days or weeks, it seems to be resolved by an outside agency (PacBell, SGI, or myself) > >> Interesting... is it just me, or does a lot of this sound like a >> phone line / modem problem.
