Good. I support this choice (because I don't think there is any other really
appropriate place in the existing hierarchy; see below).

REC.MUSEUMS for MUSEUM-L ?
John!?!!? No way! Surely, you jest? I believe that the newsgroups need a
new high-level category, probably called "acad" (for academic), as suggested	by Una and discussed over the years a lot, and that this _might_ be the place
to put museum some day (museums, as a profession/business/pursuit/service/etc
[yes, even recreation], cover such a diverse bailiwick that it's difficult
to pin them down under one or another category).
