I am the owner of the BITNet list SEDSNEWS, news about space sponsored by
Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) based at
TAMVM1. I would like to open a bi-directional usenet gateway for this
discussion group. The proposed name for this unmoderated newsgroup is
bit.listserv.sedsnews.

SEDS is an international student group with the goal of promoting space
in the university environment. We presently have chapters all over the
world. Our problem is that students in Taiwan, Japan, Australia, New
Zealand, and the former Eastern Block countries cannot easily get to the
list at TAMVM1, because of the disk space needed to accept all the mail
the list generates.

SEDSNEWS is very active. We draw some of the news from other newsgroups,
but alot of the news in our list comes directly from NASA and ESA as well
as some from Japan and the former Soviet Union. Having a gateway would
allow more news from different countries.
